NEW DELHI: The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2024 counselling has been postponed until further notice. As per ANI, NEET 2024 counselling for All-India Quota (AIQ) seats was initially scheduled to commence on July 6 but has now been put on hold. This decision comes after the Supreme Court refused to delay the NEET UG 2024 counselling process.
The NEET 2024 counselling will start separately for each state, covering 85% of seats in government colleges and 100% of seats in private colleges. NEET UG counselling 2024 consists of several rounds including stray vacancy and mop-up rounds. In NEET 2024 counselling candidates are required to register, pay counselling fees, choose their preferences and confirm them, upload required documents, and then physically report to their assigned institute.

Following the announcement of the NEET 2024 results on June 4, 2024, concerns arose regarding exam irregularities and a high number of top scorers. As a result, NEET 2024 re-exam was held on June 23, specifically for 1,563 candidates who were given grace marks. The NEET 2024 re-exam results were announced on July 1. Candidates who did not appear in the NEET 2024 re-exam were awarded the original scores without the grace marks. For those who took the re-exam, their re-NEET 2024 scores will be considered final. The NEET 2024 counselling process will be conducted collectively for all eligible candidates.

NEET Counselling 2024: Registration
Candidates begin by registering for NEET counselling rounds online. This involves visiting the MCC official website, completing the registration form, and paying the fee through net banking, credit/debit card, or UPI.
NEET UG 2024 Choice filling
Following registration, candidates log into their MCC portal account to fill out their preferred choices of courses and colleges. They can select options in order of preference, add or delete choices, and adjust their preferences as needed. Once choices are filled, candidates are advised to save a copy for future reference.
NEET 2024 Counselling: Choice locking
Candidates must lock their choices during the designated period. MCC emphasizes the importance of this step, cautioning against last-minute actions that could result in unintended seat allotments. Once locked, choices cannot be modified or unlocked, even if errors are identified.
NEET UG 2024 seat allotment
MCC will publish the NEET UG 2024 seat allotment result based on the choices filled by the candidate, seat availability, and eligibility cut-off. Candidates have the option to accept the seat or opt for an upgrade.
Reporting at allotted college
Candidates are required to bring all required documents, including their NEET admit card, rank card, and other certificates while reporting at the allotted college after seat allotment. candidates are also required to submit their original documents for verification and pay the required fees. Candidates who fail to report to the allotted college within the specified time frame may lose their seat.
