The Uttar Pradesh government has continued its no-detention policy for pupils at state schools, with no student in a right to education school failing until they complete primary-grade classes. The state has recorded a 15% jump in student enrolment since 2018. Enrolment has risen from 44.3% to 59.6%, while improvement in reading proficiency has also been noted.
